The Central Building Research Institute (CBRI), Roorkee, a constituent unit of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi is a Nation’s premiere Institute in the area of Building Science & Technology entrusted with the responsibility of generating, cultivating and promoting innovative research in building science and technology. The major areas of R&D thrust of the Institute include applied and basic research in various areas of Building Science and Technology to provide S&T back up to the problems related to Shelter Planning, Building Materials, Structure & Foundation, Energy efficient building system, development of process equipments, environmental monitoring and Disaster (Landslide, Fire, Earthquake, Cyclone) Mitigation. R&D is aimed at development of new Building Materials and Construction Technologies to enable the transfer of the developed technologies to the industry for commercialization. The Institute has built up excellent facilities for experimentation/testing in the frontier areas of building science & technology over the decades.

Essential Qualification : Ph.D. in Civil Engineering/ Structural / Earthquake Engineering / Concrete Technology/ Fire / Chemical Engineering/ Electronics /Electrical Engineering/ Chemical/Mechanical Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Thermal Engineering /Production Engineering/ Architecture & Planning/ Civil/Chemical Engineering/ Applied Mechanics having specialization in the area of Computational mechanics, working knowledge of development of Computer Codes using numerical techniques for the solution of different type of Mechanics related problems.
Desirable Qualification :
Ph.D in Civil Engineering preferably in the area of Environmental Engineering with a focus to EIA / Environmental Management for building material Industry.
Ph.D in Civil Engineering preferably in the area of Environmental Engineering with a focus to EIA / Environmental Management for building material Industry.
Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with focus on Geo-technical Engineering.
Ph.D in Civil Engineering with focus on Construction Management and experience in the execution of building structures.
Ph.D in Fire/Chemical Engineering with strong programming skills in FORTRAN / C++ and familiarity with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) code or Some experience in practical fire protection; knowledge of National / International fire safety codes/ standards.
Experience of instrumentation/digital electronics/ artificial intelligence.
Ph.D. in Architecture & Planning with focus on energy efficient building system, Pre-fabricated technology.
