The recruitment of 257 posts of Examiner of Patents and Designs for the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trade Marks under the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (Ministry of Commerce & Industry)
Essential Qualification: Masters Degree in Physics/Chemistry/Bio-Chemistry/Microbiology/Molecular Biology/Bio-Technology/Bio-Physics, OR Bachelor Degree in Engineering/Technology of a recognised University or equivalent. Desirable Qualification: (i) Research experience. (ii) Degree in Law from a recognized University or equivalent (iii) Certificate/Diploma from a recognized University/Institute in a foreign language like German, French, Russian, Spanish etc.

Age Limit: 21- 35 Yrs
Pay Band : PB – 3 (Rs. 15,600 – 39,100) + Grade Pay Rs. 5,400
Selection Process: The Selection process shall consist of two stages; preliminary examination & Main examination. Both the test will beheld on Sunday, the 2nd January, 2011.
Fees (non-refundable): (a) Offline Application Fee: (i) General/OBC Candidate: Rs. 100/- + Rs. 20 /- (towards Bank & postage charges) (ii) SC/ST/PC (OH)/Women Candidate: NIL + Rs. 20 /- (towards Bank & postage charges). (b) For Online Application : fee is to be deposited within working hours in any of the CBS branch of the Indian Bank by Bank Challan Proforma . The fee structure for Online application are as: (i) General/OBC Candidate: Rs. 100/- + Rs. 20/- (towards Bank & postage Service) (ii) SC/ST/PC (OH)/Women Candidate: Nil

Candidates may apply through Offline/ Online.
(A) Offline: Interested and eligible candidates may purchase Information Bulletin also containing prescribed ICR Application Form sold through the designated branches of Indian Bank and Oriental Bank of Commerce up to 19th October, 2010 by paying requisite examination fee (if applicable) and Bank service charges in cash. The duly filled & completed application form along with self attested copies of all documents in support of Age, educational & desirable qualification must reach to Sr. Controller of Examinations, CSIR Complex, Library Avenue, Pusa, New Delhi-110012.
(B) Online: Interested & eligible candidates may apply Online through a link available as on Tuesday, the 19th October, 2010. In order to apply Online the candidates are required to download Bank challan Proforma and then deposit the requisite examination fee in any of the CBS branch of Indian Bank through out the country within the closing date and time. Candidates after successfully submitting application online are required to take print out of the Application Form, paste his/her recent black & white photograph, put his/her signature at the required space, attach requisite certificates, and send alongwith DIPP marked copy of fee deposited Bank Challan in an envelop to be superscribed as "Application for the post of Patent Examiner" to the Sr. Controller of Examinations, CSIR Complex, Library Avenue, Pusa, New Delhi-110012. Date of Close of Online Submission: 19-10-2010
