Applications in the prescribed format given below are invited from Indian Citizens and such other nationals as are declared eligible by Govt. of India for recruitment to the under mentioned posts. The number of vacancies may increase. Posts at Serial. No. 4 and 17 are permanent. All other posts are temporary (likely to be permanent).
N.B : Ability to Read, Write and Speak in Bengali is an essential qualification for recruitment to all posts and service mentioned below, provided that the said compulsory requirement of knowledge in Bengali is not applicable for candidates from the hill areas of the district of Darjeeling. This will be tested at the time of Interview.
2. Clinical Instructor in the West Bengal Government Colleges of Nursing under the Department of Health & Family Welfare (MEN UNSUITABLE) : 7 (reserved for S.C. candidates)
Pay Scale : Rs. 9,000/- - Rs. 40,500/- with Grade Pay Rs. 4,400/-.
Qualification : i) M.Sc. degree in Nursing acquired from a reconised University OrBasic B.Sc. Degree in Nursing acquired from a recognised University with post basic diploma in clinical speciality;
ii) Knowledge of Bengali – Spoken & Written.
3. GEO-HYDROLOGICAL/GEOLOGICAL ASSISTANT under the Water Investigation and Development Department : 13 [3 reserved for S.C., 2 for S.T. & 1 for Persons with Disabilities (Blindness or Low Vision)].
Pay Scale: Rs.7,100/- - Rs.37,600/- with Grade Pay Rs.4,100/-
Qualifications :Essential: A 2nd class Honours Degree or Master’s Degree in Geology or Applied Geology from a recognised University or its equivalent.
4. MUSIC MISTRESS (Bengali Medium) in the West Bengal Subordinate Educational Service (MEN UNSUITABLE): 3 (1 reserved for S.T. candidates).
Pay Scale: Rs.7,100/- - Rs. 37,600/- plus Grade Pay Rs.3,900/-
Qualifications: Essential: (i) A degree in Music from an Indian University or a diploma in Music from a recognised institution through a whole-time course of not less than three years or a part-time course of not less than four years; (ii) Training in Rabindra Sangit; (iii) Proficiency in more than one branch of Music; (iv) Knowledge in Bengali - Spoken & Written.
5. LIBRARIAN/ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN/LIBRARY ASSISTANT under the Health & Family Welfare Department : 25 [6 reserved for S.C., 2 each for S.T. & B.C. and 1 for Persons with Disabilities (Blindness or Low Vision)].

Qualifications : Essential: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in any discipline with Diploma in Library Science from any recognised University.
6. PHARMACIST GRADE-III in West Bengal Subordinate Health Service under Health & Family Welfare Department: 370 [82 reserved for S.C., 22 for S.T., 27 for B.C. & 11 for Persons with Disabilities (4 each for Blindness or Low Vision & Hearing Impairment and 3 for Locomotor disability or Cerebral Palsy)].
Pay Scale: Rs. 7,100/- - Rs. 37,600/- with Grade Pay Rs.3,600/-.
Qualifications : Essential: Passed Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) from West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology and a two year Diploma course in Pharmacy recognised by the Government of West Bengal and registered as `A’ category Pharmacist under West Bengal Pharmacy Council.
7. PHYSIOTHERAPIST GRADE-III in West Bengal Subordinate Health Service under Health & Family Welfare Department: 37 [9 reserved for S.C., 2 for S.T., 3 for B.C. & 1 for Persons with Disabilities (Blindness or Low Vision)].

17. FISHERY FIELD ASSISTANT under the Fisheries Department: 277 (64 reserved for S.C., 17 for S.T. & 20 for B.C.).
Pay Scale: Rs. 7,100/- - Rs. 37,600/- with Grade Pay Rs.3,200/-.
Qualifications : Essential: 3 year Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Industrial Fish and Fisheries as a major or vocational subject from a recognised University.
Age limit : Not more than 32 years on 01.01.2010
