Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), an apex body in the national forestry research system, has been undertaking the holistic development of forestry research through need based planning, promoting, conducting and coordinating research, education and extension covering all aspects of forestry. The Council deals with the solution based forestry research in tune with the emerging issues in the sector, including global concerns such as climate change, conservation of biological diversity, combating desertification and sustainable management and development of resources.

Pay scale and allowance: Pay scale of PB-3:-Rs.15,600-39,100 with Grade Pay Rs.5,400/
Age Limit : 30 years (as on 01.07.2010).
Place of Posting: The persons selected against the posts in the above disciplines will be posted in any of the Institutes/Centres of the Council at Dehradun, Jabalpur, Jodhpur, Jorhat, Coimbatore, Bangalore, Shimla, Ranchi, Allahabad, Chhindwara, Hyderabad & Aizawl. All posts carry liability to serve anywhere in India.
Place of Written Examination: The written examination will be conducted at the Centres at, FRI, Dehradun, TFRI, Jabalpur, AFRI, Jodhpur, RFRI, Jorhat, IFGTB, Coimbatore, IWST, Bangalore, HFRI, Shimla & IFP, Ranchi. The candidates are required to indicate atleast three (3) centres in order of preference.
Application Fee: Candidates are required to pay non-refundable application fee of Rs.200/-(Rupees two hundred only) through bank Demand Draft drawn in favour of the "Secretary, ICFRE" payable at Dehradun from any Nationalized bank. No other mode of payment of application fee is acceptable. Separate applications should be submitted along with Demand Draft of Rs.200/- for each post, if a candidate wishes to apply for more than one posts. The SC/ST/PH candidates are exempted from the payment of the application fee

Interested candidates should submit their application typed on A-4 size paper as per the prescribed proforma along with attested copies of (i) certificate of age, (ii) certificate of educational qualification, (iii) certificate in support of claim to belong to SC/ST/OBC/PH, as applicable, (iv) certificate in support of claim for age relaxation/fee concession, as applicable, to the Registrar, Recruitment Board, Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education, P.O. New Forest, Dehradun-248 006 on or before 20.04.2010 positively.
