The Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT) set up in 1954 is the only national center in the country where research in all disciplines relating to fishing and fish processing is undertaken. The institute started functioning at Cochin in 1957. Research centers function at Veraval (Gujarat), Visakhapatnam (AP), Burla (Orissa), Mumbai (Maharashtra)
Walk -in -Interview For Junior Research Fellows on 20th April, 2010 at 9.30 am
Two temporary posts of Junior Research Fellows for CMLRE/Min. of Earth Sciences Project funded Projects i) "Assessment of Myctophid Resources in the Arabian Sea & Development of Harvest and Post-harvest Technologies" and (ii) "Assessment of Demersal Fishery Resources along the continental slope area (200-1500m) of the Indian EEZ and Central Indian Ocean"
Duration of the project : Project unto 31-03-2012
Qualification :
i) Essential : M.Sc (Biochemistry/ Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry / M.F.Sc. (Fish Processing Technology / Post Harvest Technology) / M.Sc. (Industrial Fisheries )
Desirable qualification: Experience in instrumental analysis; Experience in Analysis of fish and fishery products for biochemical & microbiological parameters; Proficiency in computer applications and data analysis; Sea going experience
Emoluments : Consolidated per month @ Rs.12,000/- + HR
Age limit (as on 31 March 2010 ): below 35 years for men and 40 years for women. Relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates is permissible
