Lots of it
Expertise
In depth knowledge of at least one web based framework/language: Javascript, Ruby on Rails, .NET MVC, CakePHP, Django, Sinatra etc. Bonus points if you like working with nightly builds.
Freshers: It is OK if you don’t fare well on this point
Passion
We argue for hours over editors, frameworks, documentation styles and format specifications. Don’t bother to apply if you don’t have at least one story to tell us about nerdery.
Taste
You’re expected to be able to differentiate between what is good and bad. You should write elegant code. You’ll be fired if you don’t indent your code properly. We are serious. Good code is poetry.
Exposure
It is OK if you haven’t dabbled in CoffeeScript, Sass, HTML5 or non-relational databases but it is kinda important that you know what these things are.
