1943 - Theodore E. Clark founded Atlas Industries, Inc., and started a small machine shop in Woodville, Ohio. He began operations with five employees and manufactured various types of crankshafts, as well as, other precision machined parts for the U.S. Government to assist in the war effort.1954 - Atlas’ reputation as a machining supplier spread and the company started a new division in the nearby village of Gibsonburg as the continuing pattern of growth called for another facility. Atlas built the new plant for the production of small and medium size crankshafts for the refrigeration and air compressor industries. Since the original structure was erected there have been seven additions to the Gibsonburg facility. The largest expansion took place in 1996 with a 50,000 square foot addition for a total of 135,000 square feet.
