Management Trainee
Purpose of the Role
Directing the team members in day to day store activities
Context of the Role
• Supervises and coordinates the activities of subordinates in the department
• Responsible for retention, promotion, transfer or dismissal of subordinates within the department.
• Trains subordinates in store policies, department procedures, and job duties.
• Responsible for the reports minimizing the discrepancies to control the costs and maintain correct inventory levels.
• May also assist sales workers in completing difficult sales.
• Listens to customer complaints, examines returned merchandise, and resolves problems to restore and promote good public relations
Priorities
• Department manager supervises and coordinates the activities of subordinates in the department
• Evaluates subordinates performance to recommend personnel actions
• Responsible for retention, promotion, transfer or dismissal of subordinates within the department.
• Assigns duties to subordinates and schedules break periods, work hours
• Trains subordinates in store policies, department procedures, and job duties.
• Order for stocks, and has to maintain the optimal level of stocks.
• Responsible for the reports minimizing the discrepancies to control the costs and maintain correct inventory levels.
• Inspects merchandise to ensure it is correctly priced and displayed
-Listens to customer complaints, examines returned merchandise, and resolves problems to promote good public relations.
