Software Engineer
POSITION SUMMARY (CONTEXT AND PRIMARY FUNCTION)
• Create, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases.
• Develop and maintain test programs including test tools and automated test suites.
• Reports defects and verifies defect fixes.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
• Develops manual and automated test cases using testing tools like QTP,HPQC etc.
• Participate in product functional re-views, test specifications, documentation and release note review.
• Work closely with the development team to analyze, debug and resolve any issues.
• Participates in periodic bug scrubs to improve test case coverage and reduce production regressions.
• Report test planning and test execution metrics daily/weekly.
• Assists in creating the system test environment, and conducts functional and system tests for Development and Enhancement Projects.
• Submits work for review by technical and user staff and actively participates in reviewing others’ work and suggesting improvements. Reviews to make sure the quality of Test cases is consistent and as per the Business Requirements.
• Escalate issues to the stakeholders to assure appropriate levels of quality on owned projects and releases.
• Contribute to the best practices and process improvements.
• Mentor junior associates

Technical Competencies
Mandatory Skills :
• Manual Testing, PL/SQL, Knowledge of HPQC. Hands on in more then one Oracle Retail Products like ReIM, RMS, RPM, Reports etc
Optional Skills :
• HPOV, QTP

- This position will require an individual who can work both individually and within a group.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, time management, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills are required.

Minimum Educational Level:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science a related discipline
Experience:
• 0 - 2 years relevant work experience
• Must have strong computer skills and be proficient in use of Testing Tools
• Has working knowledge of testing process, scripting , tools and utilities
• Has working knowledge of DBMS as appropriate.
• Has good knowledge of at least three business functions.
• Completes assignments with at least medium visibility and solid quality
• Possesses knowledge of test design, test execution and documentation.
